Personal Profile

Having always had a natural artistic flair, drawings of pubs, band backdrops as I grew up and taken a graphic design course I took five years out to work in a tyre factory. While doing this I found the immediacy of a good bike essential after a hard nights painting and partying. After buying bike leathers I started looking again at painting upon realising I could paint on leather. After occasional jobs for the music industry( backdrops and logo designs) and meeting a girl from Birmingham I decided to pursue a full time artistic career.
Upon moving to Birmingham in `91 I setup "Shaman Designs" a custom artwork service, art onto leather jackets for the most normal of people. Watercolour effects on glass and comic books on motorbikes are examples of the variations I have tackled. I promoted this around the many bike rallies and tattoo conventions  of the country where I would listen to my friends tell how they had rebuilt the bike they had ridden; the missing bolt, the machining of new parts etc.
During this time I was asked to participate in various civic gallery shows.
Back in the north east some years later and I find myself looking at photographs from a time long gone by. Although I am still open to discussions per commissions I now while away my time applying my work to canvas.
I have  gone through many phases over the years resulting in a highly personal approach and perspective. I`m always looking for the next engaging project.
